Dancing Leaves

Wind played melody of sandstorms

she raged to her heart content

leaves danced to the tempo

their spirits free of the tree

harmattan  has arrived

dancing leaves spry in dotage

obey gravity

you step on their remains

lone leaf danced towards you

be gentle as you push her away

she was once beautiful,

in her green raiment.

Wow…the beauty of this poem has been marred by tense inconsistencies. For example, line five reads ‘harmattan has arrived’ … There are others here and there.
There’s some quiet beauty that rustles in the feel of this work. It is there but cannot be felt in this current format. It would take some gleaning but if you give it the attention it deserves you would have something really lovely to your name. Well done K… Well done.
